Research in this area is collaborative. Reconstructions, models and datasets are built with students and long-term co-authors across several institutions, developed together with the EarthByte Group and the GPlates project.
Two long-running collaborations that most of this work sits inside.
A research group at the University of Sydney building open datasets and models of Earth's plate tectonic, geodynamic and paleogeographic evolution. I was a Research Fellow with EarthByte from 2010–2019 and remain a close collaborator.
earthbyte.org →Open-source software for building and visualising plate tectonic reconstructions, developed by EarthByte and collaborators including the University of Sydney, Caltech and Norway's GPlates.org team. I contribute to GPlates and its Python ecosystem, see Plate tectonic reconstructions.
gplates.org →Current students I supervise or co-supervise.
Evolution of the Seafloor of the Australian-Antarctic Southern Ocean
The Magnetisation of Earth's Ocean Lithosphere: A new view from space (part of the ARC Future Fellowship project).
Tectonic Southern Ocean Reconstructions
Past students will be added here in due course.
